West Munster Rugby

Ireland Under-19 head coach Colin McEntee has named a 32-man squad for a training camp to take place on Wednesday, December 28 and Thursday, December 29.

The selected squad is essentially an Under-20 Development squad and the two-day camp will bring the players together under Colin McEntee and assistant coach Nigel Carolan.

West Munster and Ireland Youths player, Ultan is one of only three Munster players in the squad which is largely made up of schools players. The full squad can be found on the IRFU website

Conditioning sessions are commencing on Monday 12^th September in An Riocht athletics club Castleisland as follows;

• Under 16 Cadets squad at 5pm for players who took part in the summer programme(all players except Tralee RFC players) 
• Under 17 RDS squad at 6pm for players who took part in the summer programme(all players except Tralee RFC players) 

The Tralee RFC players sessions are commencing on Tuesday 13^th September in Tralee RFC gym as follows;

• Under 16 Cadets squad at 5pm for players who took part in the summer programme(Tralee RFC players) 
• Under 17 RDS squad at 6pm for players who took part in the summer programme(Tralee RFC players) 

7th September at Tralee IT North Campus at 7 pm sharp on the pitch

• West  v North under 17 RDS @ 1.30pm (2 x 30mins)
• West  v North under 16 Cadets @ 2.45pm (2 x 30mins)

Two former West Munster Youths players featured in the Munster game away to La Rochelle in the Stade Marcel Deflandre on Friday last (August 12th).

Danny Barnes played the first half of the game at 13 and JJ Hanrahan came on for try scorer Scott Deasy  after 52 minutes.

The Munster Regional Development Squads from North, South, East and West Munster clubs and North and South schools are currently participating in the Munster Rugby summer development programme. Development Squad players have been selected from clubs and schools within their respective regions and are taking part in specialised training programmes including strength and conditioning under the management of Munster Rugby’s Coach Development Officers.
